Mikenzie Moon, "This Indiana plant really is shipping its jobs to Mexico"

Summary: This is the story of John Felter a father and husband who lost a good paying job in the 2008 crash. His family lost everything their house and cars things were at their worst. He took a job three years ago from Rexnord a job that was paying less and treated workers bad. Now Rexnord is moving to Mexico and 300 people will lose their jobs, with a difficult chance of finding another, especially being middle age men. John Felter allowed himself to hope Donald Trump would save his job like he promised. How there are people from Mexico who will be taking their jobs shadowing them and learning the skills. Many workers are selling out by teaching them tricks and steps to get a greater pension from the company. Feltner is against this because his own union people are helping the company take away his livelihood. Now his collage age kids have to give up their dreams.

Analysis/synthesis: I didn't know this was happening in our country and its really sad and heartbreaking that companies are doing this and ruining peoples lives. The video and personal story really showed what this was like and the reality of it all. Its sad that these companies are taking away jobs from people who have been doing them since high school and can't find another job and taking them to Mexico where people will be payed $3 an hour. This is very similar to the industrial revolution when immigrants would come to America and take the jobs for the smallest amount just to have food. This isn't the immigrants or people in Mexico taking these jobs its the corruption of companies doing this because they know they can make a greater profit.

  1. This is extremely sad. I hope that this doesn't happen to people in the future.
