An abundance of seniors in American nursing homes have been raped and sexually abused. The people that they are paying to take care of them have been doing the absolute worst things to them. Worse than that, the government isn't doing anything to stop this. Nursing homes have been taking a suspiciously slow amount of time to respond to these allegations. Most of these elderly women are over 80 years old. This often makes it hard for them to fight back, or even sometimes realize what is being done to them.
This is a terrible issue, knowing that these elderly people are so vulnerable. We have seen that often times in history, the government will just overlook somethings. In this case, there is no apparent change in government in regards to an issue being overseen.
This is so sad and unfortunate that this is happening not only to the elderly but to the families who trusted these nursing homes with their parents and elders.
