Elizabeth McCullough- Trump speaks out against anti-Semitic threats

Synopsis- President Trump spoke about the recent spike of anti-Semitic hate speech. Tuesday following a visit to the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C., Trump stated, “The anti-Semitic threats targeting our Jewish community and community centers are horrible and are painful and a very sad reminder of the work that still must be done to root out hate and prejudice and evil.”

Analysis- President Trump has been very hesitant to speak out on this issue in the past few weeks, and he has been accused of being anti-Semitic himself. Hearing that he has finally shown a stance of intolerance toward such behavior is both refreshing and promising. I only hope that these words were sincere. He needs some good publicity after his recent actions in office. This doesn't get him off the hook for all of the awful things he has said in the past, but he does get a gold star for this effort.

Synthesis- This synthesizes to Trump's vice president recently visiting a Jewish cemetery that has been vandalized recently. It's nice to see Trump and his administration working to fight against ignorance for a change.
