Life Expectancy Expected to Soar, Except in the US- Emma Lochabay

By 2030, average life expectancy will increase globally, according to a new study. South Korea is projected to lead life expectancy with average 91 years. It was said that unhealthy lifestyles that men have leads to women having a bit of a longer life expectancy. The US is projected to have the lowest life expectancy of all other high-income countries. This is caused by rising obesity and violence with in the country. French and Swiss women seem to still hold the lead in Europe with 89 and 84 years.

I read this article from the popular and trustworthy news site, CNN. I know I can trust this website for not holding any bias towards any events. I had not heard about this recent finding before reading this article. This is important because it is the future of our country. Something needs to be done about this potential problem in the US. It seems weird to me that such a high developing country, like the US, would face the problem of an average low life expectancy. This synthesizes to the class AP human geography. I took that class last year and the information that we learned about had a lot to do with life expectancy and the rate of developing countries.

  1. Wow this is really interesting. Especially since the United States is so developed.

  2. I really would like to know how all of this evidence was collected. I feel as though this is not exactly true regarding the fact that we are one of the most developed nations in the world.

  3. Statistics can be weird. We have many health related problems that come with our "development". Whatever that means, anyway.
