summary:a group of rebels who support the confederate flag drove around promoting it one afternoon. they targeted a young african american boy's birthday party and decided to harass the guests and start trouble. at first the family did not respond but the gang of people were to disturbing with their threats of violence and racial epithets. around 3:30 PM was when the gang of rebels stopped outside the boy's party to make the threats but luckily the entire group was charged with terrorist threats and gang activity.
analysis: personally i don't really understand what kind of people have nothing better to do in their day then go harass a birthday party? this innocent family did absolutely nothing to this group of people so they have no reason to be harassing them. i think its a good thing that these people got charged because in no way is it okay to still be attempting to bring back racial injustice. we are equal and instead of harassing a small boy's birthday party, maybe they could have been doing something productive with their lives. is that the kind of example we want to show our youth on how to act to others?we see racial injustice dry often in history. one of the most famous stories that will never be forgotten was when groups like this was socially acceptable like the KKK. luckily their long gone now but groups that have had an issue with African Americans are definitely not new.

ReplyDeleteThe KKK are actually still around, just not as publicly present as they were. It's unbelievable to think though, that these people, adults, would harass a young boy's party. Even if it were about something trivial like the cake he got, it's pathetic. - Juliet Nelson 9 period
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe they would interrupt a young boy's birthday party to promote their childish opinions. Some people need to grow up and realize that everyone is equal and that we were made by the same person. Does it really matter what we look like? For god sake we need home-training classes and cultural exposure classes. Incidents like this that take place leave me utterly dumbfounded. (Jillian P.8)
