On Sunday, the Pentagon released a statement saying that the leader of an al Qaeda-linked group allegedly bent on attacking the West had been killed on Thursday in an airstrike by the US- led coalition in Syria. Sanafi al-Nasr was the highest- ranking member of the Khorasan Group, a group of al Qaeda jihadis veterans. Nasr was once al Qaeda's chief financial officer and had been designated a Specially Designated Global Terrorist.
With this death hopefully this can act as a stepping stone to the end of this terrorist group. This specific terrorist group was responsible for the catastrophic event of 9/11. If they could do that then, they can do even worse things to our country now. With the end of this group, hopefully the terror in the Middle East will end.

Yes, I hope this will be a step closer to the end of terrorism. I don't know why but it always shocks me a little when I hear of Al-Qaeda having officers of status (CEO, CFO) just like in a legitimate company. I think of them killing hundreds of innocent people, not an organization thinking about how they're going to spend their money wisely.
ReplyDeleteMatthew Homsher 9th- Finally, the coalition is making progress. It's good to hear about something positive coming out of the fight in the Middle East. We're one drone strike closer to finishing this.
