Last night the US military airdropped 50 tons of ammunition
to rebel groups in Syria. There were 112 pallets, all recovered by the correct
people. This is the first step in the Obama Administration’s effort in using
new ways to support the rebel groups. However, these details were confirmed by
a source unauthorized to speak on the issue publically. The details have not been
formally announced. The Syria Arab Coalition gave other items such as grenades
to the Hasakah province.
Is this considered being involved in the issues in Syria? Because
I may be wrong but aren’t we, the US, supposed to be pulling out of the Middle
East? The real question is what does involvement mean? It could be having
actual forces in Syria. It could be sending money, or ammunition. Is it
possible that sending over ammo is too involved for the US government? I think
is it.
