The secret service agent, Jerry Parr, who helped save Ronald Reagan when he was wounded in 1981 (when he was almost assassinated), died on Friday at age 85. He was the lead secret service agent the day Reagan was shot. His wife says he died from a congestive heart failure three days before their 56th wedding anniversary.
Any death is very tragic and it's hard to imagine his wife's state of mind right now, but at least he lived a full life--he was in the car with President Ronald Reagan was almost assassinated! Being a part of the Secret Service is really a fascinating thought and probably a heck of a job. The Secret Service has been around since the 1800s (they were created by Abraham Lincoln) and from the Secret Service, the FBI was formed. America's Secret Service has never had a traitor, so kudos to Jerry Parr and any other agent to their dedication to America.
