This reminds me of bot the forced marriage, but rather the forced reproduction of children between the English colonists and Native American Women during colonization. Although sexual relations between these interracial marriages was purley for positive relationships between Natives and Englishmen and for the conversion of religion to christianity, the forced aspect of relationship shown in both periods of time is mildly related.

That's so sad that these little girls are forced into marraige like this She had no choice in this and een if she tried she was disowned truly sad'
ReplyDeleteI hate how young girls are forced to grow up too quickly without truly enjoying their youth. The fact that the parents agreed to marry their own daughter off to a man who is old enough to be her grandfather is sickening. It's very creepy of older men to have these desires in my opinion, but the reality is that it happens daily. The voices of these kids are drowned out by the fear of their own parents and by society undermining their worth.

It is awful that these young girls are forced to experience these forced marriages. These young girls' childhoods are being stolen from them and it pains me to know that it is their families who are forcing them into this. --Claudia Anthony
ReplyDeleteI find it awful that the parents are the ones who send their daughters off to marry someone 7 times their age. These young girls are missing out on important moments in life because their parents are forcing them to grow up to quickly. -Mattie Whisler 9th period Flex
