Amaya Avila 8 pd. Nashville Star Postpartum Depression

Hollywood's Hayden Panettiere volunteered herself into rehab for postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter, Kaya, in December 2014. Postpartum depression in new mothers or during pregnancy is seen in .2% of women. Postpartum depression is a real issue for women who are not mentally prepared. Not only is postpartum depression seen but other mental illnesses and anxiety disorders may be evident in women.
Although, the idea of a mother leaving a child to deal with negative feelings towards their own child sounds really awful, I think it's really important to remember that there are people who realize they have an issue and begin searching for a solution. Panettiere's actions toward rehab is very important as it reminds us of the unalienable rights of a human being: happiness. It is important for everyone to maintain their rights as an American.
