Last Tuesday, after being underwater for over 150 years, three civil war cannons that sat on the deck of a confederate warship have been discovered at the bottom of the Pee Dee River in Florence, South Carolina. Along with the cannons, it's rusty ship has been discovered at the bottom of the river. Heavy machinery was needed to lift the cannons, with the heaviest one weighing an incredible 15,000 lbs!!! wow!!! Aside from the mud, water, and rust, the cannons were in shockingly good condition for being over 150 years old -and they don't look a day over 90 ;)
This just shows how history is literally all around us. Whether it be in a museum or in a river, we just have to dig a little deeper to find history in everything we do!
