Nobel Prize for Medicine Winners Announced-Molly Mitchell 5th period

Summary
Three scientists have created revolutionary treatments for diseases such as malaria, roundworm, and many parasitic diseases. These great steps in medical science earned Tu Youyou, the first Chinese woman national to win such a prize, William Campbell, and Satoshi Omura the great honor of the Nobel Prize. Their discovery, based on a traditional medicine, is sure to help people all over the world affected by these parasitic diseases in what could easily be their daily lives.

Analysis
Leaps and bounds are being made in medical science every year, in stark comparison to a mere 200 years ago, where new cures and treatments for such diseases in such short time could never be conceived. Although, not this many diseases existed back then, nor were they this strong, which brings me to another point. The use of natural medicines to fight harsh diseases today is actually a bit of a rarity, but also quickly becoming a necessity, to avoid the almost inevitable future where the bacteria evolves above the medicine.

  1. Looking at tradtional medicine can be helpful, this is very nice how it was based on something ancient and not highly thought of in the science world
