Jillian Linnear P.8 // Oregon Shooting Survivor

An 18-year old boy was spared the other day in an Oregon community college. The aftermath of the school shooting left nine people dead, nine wounded and even the gunman was left dead. The article tells the way the survivor told it. That he had been spared by doing what the gunman told him to do, and all others were killed either just because or because of their religious faith.

I think that this story is very relevant to our lives nowadays because this has been a more frequent type of attack (school shootings) and I think that each and every one have different motives. Like for example the school shooting at the elementary school in Connecticut, that happened in 2012. Each having different motives, all still unclear. I feel that we might see it on the news all the time and will hear people tell us, "you never know when it could be your last day" but we never really listen until it happens to us. But, sure enough it is just as good to be aware of the situation therefore you can then know how to act under those given circumstances.

  1. its true that you can't control what's going to happen to you. its scary to think that anything could happen to anyone. at anytime could someone you care about be ripped away from you and theres really nothing you can do to stop it.
