Recent Measles Outbreak -Ausia Jones

Recently Georgia has its first confirmed case of measles since 2012.The infected infant arrived in Atlanta from outside of the U.S. and is being cared for at Egleston at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.Health officials are working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to contact people who came in contact with the patient.Measles is a serious and highly contagious respiratory disease that spreads when a person breathes, coughs or sneezes and droplets travel through the air. The disease is especially dangerous for infants, who cannot receive vaccines until they are at least 6 months old. Young children are also particularly vulnerable in cases in which they have received only one dose of measles vaccine.Measles was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000, but a recent outbreak has been traced to Disneyland in California. Throughout history the spread of diseases has been a major problem. In major cities it was and still is a major problem because  you come in contact with many more people. When people first started to get measles they didn't have a vaccine so many people suffered and even died from this disease.

  1. I'm not sure why people think it's ok to endanger others, I mean come on we live in the 21st century

  2. He first person who got measles should've gone straight to a doctor regardless of whether or not they knew that their symptoms could've been measles. It is sad to think that they wouldn't put health before a trip to Disney land.

  3. People are very uneducated when it comes to vaccines ,they believe they do things that they don't and because of this they choose not to have their children vaccinated which puts the rest of society at unnecessary risk.
