This week, over 300 manatees came to visit the warm waters of Florida's Three Sisters Springs. about 80 miles north of Tampa, the springs are a part of a national wildlife park that is often visited by tourists. It is one of the few places where one can interact with the adored aquatic mammals. They had planned to keep the park open, but with the unprecedented arrival of so many manatees, it is warranted that they closed the park, despite the tourists' disappointment.
This is reminiscent of Roosevelt's efforts to conserve the environment by creating wildlife parks. In spite of popular opinion, he forged a new ideal to conserve the environment. With great effort, he managed to save many species. I'm glad that we still follow that precedent, as conserving the environment is all kinds of good.
And I like manatees.
Im glad action is being taken to protect different species as such.
