North Korea hydrogen bomb Paul Radke (5th)

Summary- on Tuesday January 5th, North Korea set off a hydrogen bomb as a test to see how successful the weaponry is. This bomb led further to problems

Analysis- Sure hydrogen bombs do not carry the amount of radiation that a atom bomb were to but this bomb is still specified under the nuclear weapons category for the amount of damage that it can cause which was shown yesterday. This is a big step for north Korea but this shows that north Korea has the ability to make this type of technology that could be used against a country such as the US in a war. After the testing of this bomb, there was a estimated 5.1 magnitude earthquake as a result of this bomb being detonated which caused there to be evacuations in places near the testing area. The development of this technology is a good but bad in many ways.

  1. This could be dangerous if the build up of nuclear weapons in North Korea causes other country's to do the same because no one wants nuclear war!

  2. This could be very bad. If they've created this effective of a weapon and tested it with effective results, they're probably not going to stop at "just" a hydrogen bomb.

  3. I agree with Leah. The amount of nuclear weapons is a dangerous thing and could turn from good to bad in an instant.

  4. Matthew Homsher 9th-It's dangerous for a person like Kim Jong Un to have nuclear weapons, especially because he wants to attack America. This sounds like an issue the Secretary of Defense should have on his desk.
