3 Inmates Escape from California Jail // Olivia Gillis P3

On Friday, three inmates cut through steel bars, crawled through plumbing tunnels, and escaped from a roof at the maximum security jail in California. One of the men who escaped had recently been charged with murder, one with torture, and one with kidnapping. Sheriffs believe that this escape plan had been thought out and planned for months in advance. The men tied towels together in order to form a rope to rappel down from the roof and reach the street below. Authorities are offering a $50,000 reward for any information that could lead them to the capture of these prisoners.

Prison escapes are always incredibly scary, regardless of where they occur. They make you question the security of local prisons/jails and how this could happen anywhere. The men who escaped in California seem to be highly dangerous and as the article stated, this plan has probably been in the works for months and the men may have fled the country at this point. Hopefully the inmates can be found and any safety issues in the Orange County jails (or any jails around the world) can be resolved and taken even more seriously in the future.
