in relation to the progressive era and the times of the World Wars, this situations caught my attention with similarities. the factory had been in a condition were it harmed many people as did factories in the progressive era. the factories back in the day had terrible conditions, and were disturbingly unsafe. the attacks of war were motives in this situation and the world wars were definitely full of surprise assaults.

I think you are correct when relating this to the Progressive Era. Factories were hard places to work, and oftentimes people would die; however, this story seems to be more related to the destruction wars cause than the hunger for economic power. (Elizabeth Muscari pd6th)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the relation to the Progressive Era as well! The connection is great and I think we should take more time in making sure our are safe for the workers especially with all of the new technological innovations that have changed over the years.
ReplyDeleteWas this a facility that housed weapons openly? Was this common knowledge? I really hope that the workers were not severely injured and that this does not occur again. Definitely a better system of protection or security is called upon after this event..
