"The British Are Coming" - Elisa Weich p. 4

Paul Revere's time capsule has been found a second time since its original burial, over two centuries ago, in Boston because of a water leak near its resting place in a cornerstone of the Massachusetts State House. The capsule, previously found in 1855, has been unearthed and is set to be examined through this week so that the contents can be revealed next week and hopefully displayed to the public at a later date.  Samuel Adams and Revere buried the capsule in 1795 along with filing a document stating that coins, a plate, and a Revere-inscribed plaque were held inside. It is a good week for history.

It is very exciting that such a landmark item has been found because of such a common place incident. The discovery of life and politics in the time of Paul Revere could prove very informative to our current government and historians.

  1. It's cool to know that time capsules can actually be found in the future and they can have an impact.

  2. Of course it would be Benjamin Franklin who would bury a time capsule. I'm surprised no one has found it until now. It should give us an interesting look into daily life back then.
