On Monday, October 6, The Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in 11 more states: Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. This makes now makes 30 states and 60% of Americans now live in a state where same sex marriage is legal. In some states, like South Carolina, the government is fighting to keep the ban on gay marriage. Laws on same sex marriage are being lifted and marriage licenses are being issued. This is a very exciting time for those who were licensed and married right away. There were roughly 500 same sex marriages in Wisconsin.
Gays are getting one step closer to being equal to every other citizen who can marry who they love.
