Last Friday, a man invaded the premises of the state Capitol of Oklahoma and damaged a copy of the Ten Commandments by first urinating on it and then running over it with his car. He claimed that Satan told him to do so, yet Satanists disagreed with his claim. Plenty of pictures are available to view as his car was left over the commandments because the damage wasn't discovered until 12 hours after it occurred. When he was accused of the incident and brought into the building, he made threats toward Barack Obama and the whole country. Apparently, he was mentally ill and stopped taking medication. He was taken to a mental health hospital for further discoveries.
It's so terrible to hear that this man would do such a thing to such a wonderful country he lives in. Some people would feel sorry for him because he was mentally ill and he couldn't control what he was doing. Other people would say it was his choice to stop taking his medication and if a person's mind goes to horrible thoughts and actions like this one, then maybe he really has been against the country his whole life. The thought of anyone terrorizing what this country has done to make citizens happier makes me so sad. If someone has a problem with something they should start of a petition or write a letter to someone. Handling situations peacefully and maturely from the beginning makes the argument much less violent. In APUSH, we are learning about the Bill of Rights and how all of these little laws are what sets the basis for our country today. And if anyone violates those laws, they are sent to jail. There is always a punishment available to those who don't take America seriously.
