deployed soldier surprise by: Ruby Aguilar

National guard soldier watched the birth of his daughter through an iPad and afterwards was able to travel about half the world to surprise is wife at the hospital in Iowa. The guy, Sargent John Vorrath was in the Middle East with his unit. At first he did not get the request granted to be able to go see the birth of his daughter, Charlotte, though face time. As he was watching, his commander handed him a note which said that his request had been granted. Which is when he went to surprise his wife. He also got a chance to see his two year old which he had not seen in several months.

This story is one in a million, it really shows people's patriotism. Willing to be away, but still being able to watch his daughter's birth. Also a story of how a person does so many things to stand up, protect, and represent his country.

  1. This is so cute, I think it's great that he got the chance to go see his wife and newborn baby. I have so much respect for him and everyone in the army; he deserved that grant.

  2. aww, this is so sweet. How honorable of this man to give up so much for his country and then get sweet gifts like being able to surprise his wife and new baby.
