Hottest year on record - Pearson Chambers 4th

Earth is on pace to tie or even break the mark for the hottest year on record, federal meteorologists say. That's because global heat records have kept falling in 2014, with September the latest example. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Monday that last month the globe averaged 60.3 degrees Fahrenheit (15.72 degrees Celsius). That was the hottest September in 135 years of record keeping. It was the fourth monthly record set this year, along with May, June and August.

This is only a small glimpse of whats to come in the next few years. It wouldnt surprise me if these record continue to get broken. This just goes to show that the increase in our carbon footprint is causing permanent damage to our environment.

  1. Wow, I hadn't heard about this. It's definitely interesting that the previous record has now been broken. I agree that the this new record will most likely be broken in the future years to come.

  2. This is such an interesting but intimidating fact.. Of course, human existence and 'progress' has increased the amount of pollutants into the atmosphere, and caused a most definite change in temperature. But who knows how far this will go? I think that, living in Texas with an already significantly warmer climate, we don't notice these drastic changes as much as others might in other locations. But all the more reason to be doubly wary of the problems humans are creating.
