Jenni Rivera, La Diva de La Banda, will spend 15 years in prison for faking her own death. This not only gets me sick to my stomach, but I can only imagine how her family is reacting to this. Jenni Rivera passed away December 9th, 2012 from a plane crash accident, along with 6 others. Her death made headlines everywhere; it was a major loss for many fans and her family. A website took it upon themselves to create this false story for attention. They made it seem believable by using a CNN logo and re-creating a tweet in Spanish saying "Thank God my phone turned on but I don't have much battery, I'm alive but I don't know where I am, there's a lot of deceased bodies everywhere. Please, I pray to God, that someone can help me" They even went as far as to use a movie still from the film "Filly Brown" that has Jenni Rivera in a jail uniform that was originally a blue jumpsuit, but they made it look orange on the site.
I hope the people who create these false stories can come to their senses and just stop. Jenni Rivera made an impact on many lives and she deserves peace. This can relate to APUSH because lies have gotten people's attention and sometimes gets the desired outcome. I don't know why, but people just feel the need for attention, so they make up stories to get everyone talking. Lies lead to other things, and lying has been used even in history by famous people we learn about today. I don't think the cycle will ever stop, but I just hope that they realize what they did was wrong and no one should be doing that sort of thing to begin with.
uumm... how does this relate to history?? (Jose Lopez 4th prd)
ReplyDeleteI get that some people lie about small things, maybe to "protect" other people (which still isn't cool) but this went so far, making headlines and many people really believed it. This isn't right, giving false information to people, especially nationwide or maybe even around the world.
