Police officer shoots dog - Sarah Oviedo

A police officer from Cleburne shoots a pit bull dog after feeling threatened by this animal. The owner of the dog was startled by this incident and wants the officer to realize that it is not okay to shoot an "innocent" dog. This incident happened in Texas and reported on October 19, 2014. Reporters from WFAA News interviewed the owner and questioned her about her input on the situation. This is important in the U.S today because pets are very much important to the people and feel that their pets shouldn't be treated any less than a human being. The officer does state the dog was growling and seemed to have been trying to get closer to the officer therefore the officer felt threatened.

I believe that police officer's do not go to work each day to kill anyone or to give people the wrong idea of being a police officer. Police officer's are trained and do a lot to keep community's safe and active with daily activities. I do not find the police officer to want to kill an animal purposely and solely for his protection. Pit bull's are known for being aggressive animals so I would agree to the police officer's reaction if I felt threatened as well whether the dog was really going to attack me or not. That is not a risk everyone would risk making: dog bite.
