Woman finishes 11-mile Bike Ride - Olivia Lambert

Gabby Giffords, a former resident of Arizona, completed a 11-mile bike ride alongside her husband this past Saturday. It was a big step in her life as she is recovering from a mass shooting which took place in 2011. The crowd went wild for her as she stepped over the finish line. Before her accident, Gabby was an athlete and cyclist. This 11-mile bike ride wasn't the only accomplishment Gabby has done, she also was the first woman to throw a pitch at the congressional women's softball game located in Washington.

From this article, Gabby seems like a driven, hardworking woman even after an almost fatal event. She picks herself right back up and accomplishes even more, and she couldnt do it without certain individual rights stated in the Bill of Rights or even women's rights. Women's rights plays a huge part in society today and in the past because women are becoming more equal which gives them more freedom to accomplish more and that is exactly what Gabby presents.
