"4 workers die, 1 hurt in Texas chemical plant leak" by Alex Norton 6th Period

Four workers were killed and a fifth worker hospitalized at a DuPont plant in La Porte, Texas by a chemical leak this past Saturday The community surrounding the plant was not effected and was never a risk. The cause of the chemical leak is still being investigated. The leak happened in the middle of the night and it was discovered by neighbors that could smell the chemical, methyl mercaptan. The chemicals were diffused in the air so it wasn't a danger to them.

It always breaks my heart when death is so unexpected. Dealing with death is always hard but even more so when it comes out of nowhere. The families probably had plans to go to church in the morning or have a family breakfast.

  1. That's awful. It's one thing to hear about these accidents, but when you put it like that and think about what they could have planned the next day, it is very heartbreaking.

  2. I agree with Hannah. Freak situations like this just puts everything into perspective.
