school lunch #thanksmichelleobama, by: Ruby Aguilar

I am sure many students can agree that school lunch is not the best thing we have ever tasted. Well a new uprising has started where students post a picture and tag #thanksmichelleobama sarcastically since the whole school lunch movement started when she wanted to change the schools' lunches due to the fact of obesity in children in 2012.

ANALYSIS: People are blaming Michelle Obama because she started the movement in the first place, but it is actually the district who decides what to serve out on school lunches. So if we really want to change something about the lunch we all have to get together and get word out to the district.

Just like the people all had to come together and fight fight for their rights and changes they wanted to have done.

  1. It's not her decision to serve that nasty mess, it's the schools. The fact that they are even blaming her is crazy. She implemented new rules on the schools policy to serve something that is healthy and gives kids the vitamins and minerals they need. She didn't give them a list of things to serve.

  2. It is not fair to say that Michelle Obama is at fault for inedible school lunches; it is a problem that the local government and school districts are responsible for. These protests could be useful if they were directed towards the people that are directly responsible.

  3. I completely agree with everyone. It isn't Michelle Obama's fault at all because she didn't give the schools a list of exactly what to feed the kids. And the students and schools should not be so harsh by using a rude hashtag. If they really want to fix it they should talk to the school principal or their superintendent. 3rd Period
