Oh (no) Christmas Tree by Megan Darlington

In Reading, Pennsylvania, the town met together to light the "big" tree to start of the christmas season. The children's choir was singing, and when it came down to the reveal, the people were less than impressed. The tree looked puny and was decorated pretty awful. The citizens are now very upset and are raising money to get an even greater tree that will do the town justice, and put them to shame.
First of all, I'd like to say that these people are sassy, but like our founding fathers, they knew what they wanted and would do what they could to get it. When the colonies didn't like being ruled by king George and saw america as a land of freedom, they took action and gave our nation justice, by making it a strong independent nation. This is similar to the tree, because these people are just trying to fix a problem and are very determined.

  1. hahaha, I'm not sure why but this post gave me great joy. I can hear you saying this. I love the connection to the determined - and maybe a little sassy - founding fathers.
