The illustrious shopping day, Black Friday became deadly for one Nordstrom store in Chicago. Friday night a man entered the store, shot a woman and then himself.  Shoppers bolted from the store as soon as gunfire was heard.
John  Escalante, the chief of police, described the motive as a revenge plot, as the woman targeted in relation to the shooter was an ex-girlfriend. The ex-girlfriend was a seasonal employee of the store, she was rushed to critical care, the man died in the store.
A shopper and eye witness described the urgency of the moment as he was knocked over multiple times.
The Nordstrom will remain closed until further notice.

Personally, this is alarming that the man targeted his ex-girlfriend. That definitely makes me apprehensive about ever breaking up with someone. He also targeted her at work and had a plan for how he was going to end up. Nordstrom is a very nice and I assumed safe store to shop at but I also never recall a Nordstrom with any source of obvious security system.

  1. I had heard about this on the news! I wonder how she's holding up. Is she still in critical care?

  2. That is so terrible! It's so scary what some people will do to get revenge over an ugly break-up. I hope she is alright!
