Two women, and a dog rescued after building collapse on Chicagos south side by Maddie Murphy pd. 6

A Chicago apartment building collapsed on Sunday evening on the south side of tu city. Luckly, there were only two people living there. One of them, a 78 year old woman, lived on the upper floor and is said to be in critical condition but is alert in her surroundings and has the ability to talk. The other woman, her neighbor, is also in fair-to-serious condition located at a different hospital. The dog that was rescued was a pit bull named Tigger.

I'm glad that the two woman were rescued and are ok. It could have been a lot worse if there was multiple people living in those apartments.  It comes to show that our buildings to this day aren't perfect and can cause disasters. We have improved since the beginning of America in the constructions of our buildings but we always have to be cautious for our safety.

  1. The government should have better standards with old buildings, roads, and bridges because they could result in a disastrous outcome.

  3. I agree with Addison, and hopefully they'll create a plan for how to deal with such structures, as well as the construction of new ones as to prevent further incidents. But it's great news that no one was killed in this one.

  4. This incident shows how the government should spend more time and possibly more money to ensure that the infrastructure of all states remain safe. Hopefully this was a lesson learned by all and is a one time accident that will not occur again.
