self defense at school?

From the catastrophic shootings with Rachel Scott and the shooting of the children  many have been paranoid about what there is to come or could come. As a right to bear arms are we also allowed to carry weapons to protect ourselves at school? As temporary guardians of students during the school day are they allowed to carry weapons for any future catastrophic events? Are these all excuses just to do so although there is a school budget to hire extra security? In Clarksville Arkansas there is only a small handful of teachers that are certified to handle weapons no bigger than a handgun. Many however do not trust any kind of weapon on school grounds despite whatever reason. if it should be safe it should be strict and above the law. Others agree that certified and trusted teachers and janitors are acceptable to insure twice the security of more than 2,000 students in an average school of only 20-30 teachers and staff. however this could also seem contradicting to oneself or even hypocritical. To achieve such thoughts or solutions to these problems leaves us in a world of "what if's". We can no longer feel safe with out a source of security only a few feet  away. Is this acceptable to a world of unpredictable occurances?
