Kolina Hocevar period 5 Abducted son reunites with father

A child who had been kidnapped in 2000 in Florida, finally reunites with his father who never gave up. It is every parents nightmare to have their child taken from them. according to authorities this abduction was not by any stranger. The kidnapper was the child's grandmother. Sandy Hatte who is sixty took the child when her own son asked her to babysit his son while he was at work. After the father cam home from work his mother an son were gone. It took a total of thirteen years for the police to find them. Hatte was apparently homeless n Chillicothe, Missouri with her grandson. She also tried to register the teen in a school but officials grew suspicious. Eventually they were found by a private investigator hired by the father. On September 17, the father was reunited with the child he last saw at age 1. Hatte is being held in the Daviess Dekalb County Regional Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bond, according too Menconi. She has been charged with Felony child abduction.

This is very shocking, to find out that the kidnapper was the fathers own mother. It is also shocking that it took the police thirteen years to finally track them down. It is inspiring to see how a father would never give up the search to find his son no matter what.

  2. Wow that's fantastic! Grandmothers be crazy though.... You know, children who have been abducted usually never make it back home alive after the first 24 hours prier to abduction. That is truly amazing!

  3. I will never understand why the grandmother would kidnap her OWN grandson. This is seriously so ridiculous. It's not like she even took him to live a better life. She kidnapped him and exposed him to a life a homelessness. I honestly don't understand the world anymore. I;m glad the police found him and that the father never lost hope though. -Nia Edwards 4th
