Oldest time capsule found in Boston

A 113 year-old time capsule was found in Old Massachusetts State House, Boston, MA. The box was found inside of one of the two statues of a lion and a unicorn. This capsule is thought to be sealed by  Samuel Rogers, a local copper-smith and  one of renovators of the State house in 1901.In the box lies photographs, newspaper articles, including "campaign buttons for McKinley, Roosevelt and John D. Long for vice president.".
I thought it was cool that the capsule was found in a Unicorn ( cousin to the Pegasus, eh?).
The finding of the capsule, helps historians understand better what occurred during that time;even if they already knew the information, anything helps. The Staff of state house had no knowledge of the time capsule until a descendant of Rogers, alerted them with a letter.

  1. It amazing that the people in history considered our feelings by putting those artifacts in the time capsule to answer the questions we might have

  4. If only we could have time capsules from different times and places. Time capsules could give us a better idea of what life was like rather than relying on biased information written several years after the events.
