Naval historical gift by Mackenzie McGregor 6th period

The USS Abraham Lincoln will soon carry a piece of naval history, in the form of a 30 ton anchor. The anchor comes from the USS Enterprise, the first and oldest nuclear carrier in the fleet. The anchor was a gift to the Lincoln carrier as the Enterprise is set for decommission in 2016. It is wonderful to hear that the legacy of one of America's oldest nuclear carriers will be preserved by the Lincoln. Although it is not a legacy of peace and ecological reinforcement, it is positive to hear that the historical vessel is still seen as part of America's naval history.
