High court refuses to rule and gives tacit victory on same-sex marriage- Joseph Katinas

The United States Supreme Court gave authority on Monday for same-sex marriages to legally happen in five more states. The court, simply and incredibly, refused to hear those certain states' cases which were Utah, Indiana, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Virginia. The aforementioned states were seeking to keep their same-sex marriage bans in place, but they failed. Couples in some of those states began applying for marriage licenses just hours after the Supreme Court's decision. CNN affiliate WVEC in Norfolk, Virginia, captured a same-sex couple who rushed to fill out and complete their marriage license documents. Officials in Virginia began issuing same-sex marriage licenses at 1 p.m. Monday. Tony London and Tim Bostic, two plaintiffs in Norfolk, reported that they were already ready to receive their official marriage license that Monday afternoon. I think that this article is really amazing. I really like how the Supreme Court just basically said that they didn't care what these five states had to say and they legalized gay marriage in them. In hindsight it may not look impressive, but we are nearly halfway there with this legalizing of marriage. The whole movement of marriage equality reminds me of the movement to abolish slavery before the civil war broke out. It's similar because some states took measures to free slaves and more did as time went on, while states that still had slavery added more slaves and took more measures to keep slaves. They eventually formed their own country, and I hope that history does not repeat itself with Texas and other states forming their own country to keep marriage between a man and a woman.
