healthcare provider has been contaminated. Taking on various precautions did
not stop Ebola. Taking off personal protective equipment — gowns,
gloves, face masks, goggles — is also one of the biggest areas of contamination
and risk, Friedan said. According to CDC guidelines, protective
equipment must be removed in a particular order, without any of the material
touching the wearer’s skin, mucus membranes or the exterior of the
clothing. There must have been a mistake in his removal of the protective
materials and it probably will cost him his life. The hospital was confident of
their methods however it didn’t all work out. “We’re very concerned,” Vargas said, though he
added that the hospital is “confident that the precautions that we have in
place are protecting our health-care workers.”

Ebola might just be the end of us. We cannot escape it. We are all goners.
The heath care provider took on many precautions to avoid the deadly virus, but
unfortunately it didn’t stop Ebola from striking. We can take on as may
precautions as we would like but let’s face it, this is the end.
I believe that the doctors, as well as the CDC, are going to take extreme measures to ensure the person affected will be taken care of. If we look at what happened with AIDS, we can see that while people said, "this is the end of the world", doctors urged us to remember that AIDS wasn't something one caught simply by living. It's highly unlikely we will all contract this un-airborne virus if we consider the scientific probability and nature of it. Elizabeth Muscari P6
ReplyDeletebelieve that is a little extreme. there are millions in the us and only two cases of ebola thus far even the plague in europe and small pox in america didnt whipe everyone out
ReplyDeleteI agree with both Victoria and Elizabeth. There are so many people and there are only two case of this virus. It's not an airborne virus and the cases are very rare. I don't believe that this is the end of the world.
