High School Football Safety Questioned After Deaths of Three - Hannah Kalan 6th Period
This past week, three high school football players died. They were from Alabama, North Carolina, and New York, and while their deaths are still being investigated, it's believed that they died from injuries relating to football. The sixteen year old who was from New York suffered a serious head injury and was taken to the hospital, where he died following surgery.
It's things like this that can really turn the tide for some people. So many are fans of football and not everyone knows the risks. And now it's putting parents on the spot to put their kids safety first or to let them play.

ReplyDeleteI think it's extremely hard for people to acknowledge the fact that these injuries/deaths are football related because football is a huge part of American culture. I also think that a lot of people want to ban highschool football because it's extremely dangerous nature, but like any sport, there can be a small chance of fatality and these people KNOW that going into it. -Azra
ReplyDeleteWhat a weird coincidence that these three players all died in the same week. It's very sad and serves as a reminder that while football is a big part of our culture, it can be very dangerous.
