On October 19, a women was caught on camera harassing 2 African American sisters in an apartment complex parking lot stating "I'm white and hot. So what are you doing here?" she even asked "Do I need to bring out my concealed weapon?" during the encounter. After, the incident she called 911, claiming that the women were trying to break in residences and that she had never seen them before even adding that they were African Americans and that they were trying to "start a problem". The sister also called 911 to report the harassment and adding that she should be pressed charges. Eventually, the lady turned herself In and is now served with a misdemeanor for the misuse of 911 and 4 criminal summons for simple assault and communicating threats.
It's so sad seeing, that this is the kind of world we've become. A good point that came from this story that the one of the sisters mentioned “We want to bring justice. We want to bring awareness to the community. People are being judged for the color of their skin." I agree with this 100 percent and l think its something the public can use as an eye opener. This also not the first time this has happened, back then this was a huge problem and it looks like history is just repeating itself.
That is so crazy what the white lady did and I hope the two African American ladies characters were not misjudged by the lady phone call. I hope we continue to grow and not take steps backward.
ReplyDeleteI think its absolutely crazy that black people have been through a tragic dehumanizing event likke slavery, yet years later are still struggling to be respected and viewed as people who matters.
