Lettuce Sally North

Due to an e coli outbreak linked to romaine lettuce, your salad may now kill you. On November 19th, the FDA announced that e Coli had been linked to romaine lettuce farmed in central and northern California. They have stated that lettuce from outside these growing regions should be safe to eat. The solution the FDA came up with was to label the lettuce with where it was grown and its harvest date. Please do not buy or consume lettuce that lack these labels.

This is not the first time e coli has been linked to food products, and articles like these are important because they warn us about dangers present in foods we eat. An outbreak occurred with many of Chipotle's items in 2017 that also featured e coli.  Again, please check for the labels the FDA mandated before you buy your lettuce.
