Jordan Gillette- Stan Lee dies at 95

https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-46186552

Summary: On November 12th, 2018, Stan Lee, the man that created the Fantastic Four and the legacy of Marvel and its universe, passed away in California at 95 years old. Stan Lee was born in 1922 to a family of Jewish Romanian immigrants. When he was only 18, he began working and editing comics for Timely Publications (which later became known as the esteemed Marvel Comics), though Lee was never satisfied with the works he was producing as they always revolved around common themes for younger audiences like horrors and westerns. In 1961, he decided that he would do something about his insatisfaction regarding the works he was publishing, and with motivational words from his wife, Joan Lee, he went and created the Fantastic Four, and his dreams of superheroes with creative personalities and superpowers soared from there. Stan Lee's death hit the hearts of the public and his close friends and cast mates and coworkers like a truck, and many reached out like Hugh Jackman and Bob Iger (the chairman of the Walt Disney Company) on social media to express their condolences and invite everyone was has ever enjoyed a Marvel comic or movie to join as a community in mourning.

Analysis: This article was written by the writing staff at BBC (the names weren't listed), and before I read this article all throughout the day at school I had heard about Stan Lee's passing with a gloomy expression upon every person's face that told me. He found a way to agelessly impact every generation, young or old, with the dazzling and wild lives of these superheroes who fought for good in the world, and seriously contrasted the day-to-day life of the average 9-5-working American. This article was written as a way to do what news does the best: inform the public, and reading and hearing about a legendary figure in the entertainment industry passing on sent a necessary gloominess through all of us at Booker T. Stan Lee's death can be related to Walt Disney's death back in 1966; Walt Disney had a similar ageless and timeless impact on the younger generations of yesterday, today and tomorrow, and seeing that both of these great men are gone marks a truly sad day in history.

  8. It's so sad that, we lost such an important artist in the world. Not only did Stan innovate the comic community, he was also a great person who cared about everyone. I hope his legacy is remembered forever, and the generations under us can learn that a lot of their favorite heroes were created by Lee himself. - Joziah German
