Y'all, chemical warfare isn't OK -Hadley McGhee

Let me first state the obvious. This. Is. Not. O.K.

Also, I know we're not at war.

BUT, as per the Geneva Convention, gassing people seeking refuge is not OK.
The US signed the Geneva Convention in 1949 in response to the atrocities of the Holocaust and WWII. We signed that document to prevent chemical warfare. And now we're doing it.

Furthermore, these people are not criminals. US law states that immigrants seeking asylum- no matter what their legal status- may enter and stay (not in a prison) until their hearing, or until they attain legal status.

These are women and babies and families and human beings.
The US signed a document to protect refugees.
The tear gas used at the border this weekend was unconstitutional and immoral.

This needs to stop.

  1. Emma Burkey: I completely agree with your stance and there is no excuse that will make up for the atrocities that are happening at the border. I can't believe that the country that is supposed to be all for human rights is now gassing the very people they say they want to protect. Unbelievable. But then again, with this administration, I am not surprised.

  2. Agreed! Thank you for backing this up with political evidence because apparently people (like our president) don't have morals.
