This Sunday evening the Kansas City health inspectors throw out food that was meant for the homeless. The KCTV5 news report that Kansas City health inspectors threw out food like bean soup, and then they told them to leave the parks. Jennifer McCartney has wanted to pay it forward for the past three years she said “ we got sick of looking in seeing people on the street that were hurting,” so she volunteers with three hot soup which is an organization that brings food and clothing to Kansas City is the the homeless community. She says that some homeless depend on these meals and McCartney was shocked when the police in health inspectors showed up at Ilus Davis Park where the volunteers were serving meals for the homeless. There were so many people waiting in line and the health department officials told KSTV5 The group is serving and properly prepared food without a permit and they shut down three locations where McCartney another volunteers were working. McCartney said “ they told us we could throw away the meals or they would do it,” also volunteered to video of inspectors dumping food into plastic bag and said they also poured bleach on it.
I think that was the Kansas City health inspectors did was disrespectful I mean I understand that they should have a permit to do that but they have done it so many times and have never been bothered before, they should also understand that they’re helping out the homeless which is something important and they were also just wasting food which could’ve been given to the homeless.
Its just sad that so much food is wasted on a daily basis, and then to intentionally throw out food meant for people who need it is flat out wrong.
