Labels Today- Betty Dubois

Labels are a huge part of our society today, they can judge your friend group, or be the reason you don't get casted in a show, or be a factor with who accepts you. There is great controversy, and there has been about labels, and wether they are relevant or not, and what sort of people are willing to accept those labels.  One label doesn't determine who you are, who you wanna be, or what you want to do, it's just a way to describe something quickly and simply. This is not just an issue about race and gender, it's about equality. I personally believe that a label that someone goes by should not be a major factor of how you see that person, or a key part of their personality, it is simply a way to describe something about themselves and it shouldn't be something to argue about. In the past we used labels such as "Democrats and Whigs" or "Federalist and Anti-Federalists" were used to describe a political placement someone would put themselves in like our current parties "Democrat and Republican"
