Avery Corley: Trump warns about voter fraud on Tuesdays election

With early voting coming to an end and regular voting coming up tomorrow, president Trump at last minute has decided to warn America about voting fraud. The president explains in his tweet that authorities have been "strongly notified" about "illegal voting" occurring in this election. Trump feels that he is obligated to inform the people that "illegal" voting will not be tolerated, and maybe was hoping to scare away some of the "illegal" voters before Midterm Election Day. Trump also complains of similar occurrences in his own election. Perhaps Trump is trying to make excuses for not winning the popular vote in 2016.

This article was written on November 5th by Amy Gardner. The story was extremely interesting with my favorite part being the positive at the end. In the conclusion statement Gardner explains some of the amazing things going on in this years Midterm Election. She explains that in the state of Texas and Nevada early voting this year has exceeded the entire voting turnout in 2014. This specific event especially when talking about Trump alluding to the fact that he lost the popular vote due to illegal voting, reminds me of when president Herbert Hoover (president during the great depression) blamed the common people for the poor economy instead of taking on some of the blame for his own actions.

  1. Being concerned about voter fraud is honestly such bs. With millions of Americans being purged from the rolls voter suppression is way more of an issue.
