Young boy dies due to enterovirus D68- Amanda Cervantes
On the night of Wednesday September 24 a four year old New Jersey boy died in bed. It was not later found out that his death was caused by the enterovirus D68. Before his death he had not shown any symptoms, which is what categorizes this D68 virus different from the rest. Currently one other child with the virus who attended the childs school is being tested. It is not clear how the child contracted the virus. This virus has affected many people and just last week the number of cases rose from 277 cases to 538. Many other children have been hospitalized due to respiratory problems, the virus is prone to children who have asthma.

It is so awful that the boy died without showing any symptoms. In reminds me of the recent ebola scare in the U.S. and other parts of the world because you can carry ebola without showing symptoms. This causes people to travel without even knowing they are infected, just how this boy didn't even know he had D68.
ReplyDeleteLord what's going on in the world? It seems like everything is happening at once. All these deadly diseases are affecting people around the world. If it's not one thing it's another and the people caught in between it don't seem to get a break.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad that he died without showing symptoms. At least if you have symptoms you know, you can prepare, but I the shock that his family may be experiencing... I can't even begin to imagine that.
