At the Texas hospital where Thomas Eric Duncan was being treated for the deadly disease, ebola, few measures were taken for the situation and caused one of their own nurses to catch the deadly disease. Nurses are now coming forward that they were not being given protocols on how to treat the patient and that they felt like they were unsupported and being lied to throughout treating Mr. Duncan. They also stated that Duncan was not in isolation for up to seven hours, they were not in full protective gear, hazardous waste piled up and they were given no training for how to deal with the disease.
Way more pro cautions should have been taken to keep the patient, other patients and nurses safe and healthy. No one really seems to know how to get a grip on this disease and I think in order for the epidemic to be solved, proper protocols, gear and methods of disposal must be established.

Even though Ebola is a serious virus, it doesn't affect as many people as we think. The media enlarges the issue. Quentin Noble period 2
ReplyDeleteThis virus is very serious and has a major impact on the U.S. right now.
ReplyDeleteI think that people are overreacting just a little bit over Ebola. Yes, it's a deadly disease but it hasn't become an epidemic yet and with all the technology we have these days, we will find a way to contain it.
