Veronica Jones: Officials pore over test results for W. Va. water tainted by chemical spill

The water in West Virginia has been contaminated by about 7,500 gallons of a coal cleaning chemical used by Freedom Industries and both people and animals alike are getting sick from exposure to it. Around 300,000 people populate the are where the contaminated area is and almost 1,000 people are already showing signs of exposure (around 600 animals are as well). And of coarse, with a vague threat as that looming, people are going to begin hallucinating the symptoms and crowing emergency rooms making it harder to treat people who actually are sick. The biggest problem is that authorities are still trying to figure out exactly how contaminated it is. Right now the water is only allowed to be used for fire fighting and toilets. Clean water is hard to fins at the moment and it doesn't look like these "water woes" will be ending any time soon

Much like most people my age, I first heard about the West Virginia water contamination a few days ago through a Tumblr post. It didn't really say much other than the fact that the water is toxic and a warning for West Virginians to not drink their local water. Being a child of the age of technology, I figured it was just some hoax post made to scare people. I mean, the news would have mentioned it the other day, right? Apparently, no. This has been an issue since Thursday and I haven't heard much more than a mention. In fact, this article was just posted this morning. Either way, it's odd that I haven't heard more people talking about it.
