Francesca Bartos "We Didn't Eat the Marshmallow, the Marshmallow Ate Us" 2nd

This article talks about a study done on will power in the 70s and 80s. Several four-year-olds were separately placed in an empty room and given a marshmallow. The child was then told that if they wanted they could eat the marshmallow, but if they waited fifteen minutes  they could eat two marshmallows. In short the children who waited for two marshmallows were more likely to have higher SAT scores and do well in life. But before you go wondering what you would have done as a munchkin, take into account that children who were inclined to just eat the first marshmallow may have doubted the fact that they would receive a second one even if they did wait, there are very many variables talked about in the article if you want to check it out.
As for myself I probably  wouldn't have eaten it, simply because I don't like marshmallows.

  1. That is interesting. I wonder how many of the kids were actually thinking that way.

  2. I also don't like marshmallows so I probably would have ended up with 20 before I started playing with them.
