Unemployment Rate Drops Unexpectedly

Caden dickinson

Unemployment rate in the United States has dropped under 4% which is lower than it has been in years. A large factor is companies like JC penny having nation wide hiring days as to provide more jobs for people, and amazon even opened to letting more people in their company and setting there minimum wage at 15 dollars an hour which is very generous. On the topic of wages, wages are also higher than they’ve been in years. So overall the economy is at a very high point right now, higher than it’s been in years.

  1. This is very interesting to me.Since technology is taking over, I thought that people would lose their jobs but I am glad to see that this is not the case.

    1. I agree. I know that we’re coming to a point in technological innovation where people sometimes joke about humans being taken over by robots and people having robot kids or whatever, but to be honest, I take these jokes a little too seriously sometimes. It worries me to know that many jobs are being taken by the efficiency of machines, but this makes me feel better to know that unemployment is actually decreasing.

  4. I am glad to know that as automation takes over the jobs of many, we continue to find ways to compensate for this. In truth, I believe that technology isn't leading to the loss of jobs, but the creation of them. As automations begins to take over certain industries, new demands are brought to the table such as jobs for computer scientists.

  5. It is nice to see employment becoming less of an issue. Thenew Amazon headquaters might be placed in texas, and will bring in a lot of jobs for texans.
